FFF is a well-thought-out seafaring yarn with a compelling but unusual plot, NOT the usual Cthulhu fare. i cannot say more ( to avoid spoilers) but assure you it is a very good story which will have your Investigators wondering " what the Hell is going on?". The basic story is supported by comprehensive handouts and character sheets, with a lot of detail to assist the Keeper to keep things moving along. There is provision for, potentially, a large group of Investigators to join in. Certainly there are enough character sheets for the full crew of a ship, if you can handle it. Or, just a small group, the story is very flexible. Apart from the main body of the adventure, the ending has a delightful surprise twist you will love; i cannot say more, may spoil things. i ordered the POD booklet as well, just to see what the standard is as I've never ordered a POD from DrivethruRPG. It arrived fairly quickly and was up to a good standard. If all Drivethru's POD booklets are similar, i may order them when i buy my next module. So, very happy to give FFF a five-star rating. ps: Forgot to add that the sea shanties look like great fun. especially if you have HPLHS's Sea Shanty DVD, for a sing-along.

I had a chance to run this one night at the hobbyshop I work at, and people just kept showing up. Thank god that this scenario is built with plenty of character sheets. That night is one of the most unique gaming experiences that I have ever played, from the start with the whaling, to the intrigue and mystery that I don't want to spoil for anyone who hasn't had a chance to play yet. I finished the night with 11 people singing along to the Innsmouth shanty at the end, and while that is definitely more than normal for me (my home group is 2 players), this scenario made it all worthwhile. I highly recommend Full Fathom Five, and Paul Fricker has created a gorgeous scenario that deserves to be played.

I'm such a fan of CoC scenarios with a lot of historical info and great big literary quotes. Fun to play, deadly as all get out, and great art!

Paul Fricker delivers a great scenario, and John Sumrow's cover art completely captures the essence of this highly lethal and dreadful adventure on a whaling boat in the South Pacific.

We've run this three times, including two times at Origins. It's a great convention scenario, and will remain a go-to in our repetroire. We offer a full review and our notes about running at cons over at our blog, Prospero House Publishing.

This is a well-thought out scenario that leads to great paranoia among the PCs. The artwork is fantastic, the handouts are great, and the opportunities for role-playing abound. I ran it as a one-off for my regular (rotating GMs, rotating games/systems) group. It took us about 4 hours with 5 players. Afterward, all the players appreciated how different it is from other Cthulhu games. I highly recommend this!

Haven't run this yet, but really looking forward to it. Seems like a real romp. Beyond setting up for some great gameplay, the organization and clarity of this scenario is excellent (making it pretty easy for the Keeper to prep for). Some really original mechanics. If you are on the fence - jump right in, you won't regret it!

I recently ran this scenario for my friends, and it was one of the most fun and unique Call of Cthulhu sessions we had in a while. Full Fathom Five does a wondderful job blending horror, classic Mythos threats, and a unique setting. There's plenty of resources in the scenario to truly immerse your group into the setting. There were plenty of fun twists, and so many ways that the events could unfold. Personally for my group it ended with a wonderfully chaotic confrontation between my PCs, followed by plenty of death and insanity. A great blend of Call of Cthulhu and a Moby Dick style whaling story.

We played Full Fathom Five as part of a Distant Grey Gaming podcast, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Dark, salty, and scare aplenty, this is a module that takes the Keeper and players on a journey they will scarce believe. I won't give any spoilers away here, but look up Distant Grey Gaming on your preferred podcast provider and from 20th January 2021 there will be a new episode - it's an adventure in four parts. EXCLUSIVE - We also interview module creator, Paul Fricker, and discuss the module, his inspirations, and other questions too. Paul is an amazing chap, and we were so grateful for his time!

This is a great one-shot scenario (I'm eying it for convention play) that does the every so special trick certain CoC tales can do: take you to a different place and time, and creep you the heck out while doing it! I greatly appreciate the layout and writing; these areas can make or break a scenario, especially one as "experimental" as this. The art is stunning, and will definitly see use at my table. By the way, I absolutely LOVE having a portrait for every character on the ship.

Highly recommend!

I bought Full Fathoms Five as part of a bundle of products, but it was the driver for the purchase. Let me say that it is excellent! It smashed my expectations and stands apart from a crowded field of possible choices.

This scenario is extraordinary. I have not been this impressed with a Call of Cthulhu scenario in some time. Immediately after reading it, I could not wait to run it. One of the best features of this game is that it will be a treat to run repeatedly for different groups. Without giving anything away, there is a tremendous amount of variability that will be a delight to see unfold. In addition, it is beautiful, chock full of eerie, evocative art, helpful ship layouts and well developed pre-generated characters.

It’s everything you could want in a Call of Cthulhu scenario.

MADNESS ON THE HIGH SEAS...

Just read FF5. I can't wait to run this...probably at a convention or best with some scurvy seadogs.

Nice artwork, some great plot twists, deckplans and a well fleshed out crew section.

Managed to read through this on holiday, such a richness of detail and so much support for the Keeper to run this in multiple ways with advice for the size of the group and how to adjust the scenario for them. Really high quality writing, combined with fantastic graphics, handouts make this one of the top items to purchase on Chaosium's Miskatonic Repository. My only gripe? Where is the audio of Paul, Matt and Scott singing "Roll the Old Chariot Along"? An opportunity sorely missed :)

There's plenty to enjoy in this excellent scenario.

A wealth of rich background material, handouts (including some great deck plans), an extensive cast in the form of the ship's crew and even some tips on running the game for smaller groups all make for a scenario that's easy to get to grips with whether you're familiar with all things nautical or a die hard landlubber!

Excellent art and a fluid writing style round things off; a bargain at $6.99.

Paul Fricker has excelled himself once again.  A brilliant ye olde 'Ripping Yarn', straight out of the pages of a pulp novel of it's time.  This adventure will have players on the edge of their seats/ hammocks as Paul Fricker successfully weaves and evokes a sense of dread as the story develops.  Paul has got some great writing pedigree behind him, (co-writing the 7e CoC rules with P Mason, helping create the new Masks of Nylarlathotep amongst others!).  I first encoutered Paul's work in what I would call his early signature work, which successfully blends popular culture and the Mythos: Dockside Dogs (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/102669/Dockside-Dogs-Call-of-Cthulhu).  This latest tale is in this tradition, since he is primarily blending themes from Moby Dick and Call of Cthulhu.  Another similarity is that both tales are tense affairs, with events and action flowing quickly to a brutal conclusion.  Paul knows how to keep players engaged, horrified and on edge!

Another key reason here as to why Paul is able to 'pull you in' to the story, and make you feel as if you are there, is his succinct, clear and well written prose, as well as his ability to immerse the players in the setting (mid-19th century whaling ship). Paul has clearly done his homework, and done some good quality historical as well as literary research, with the good use of Moby Dick, creating a rich storytelling backdrop.  Even a bit of Shakespeare is thrown into the mix.  At the same time, you the reader/ GM are not overloaded with details.  Paul provides just enough to create the sense of immersion/ depth without overloading you.  He gets the balance perfectly right.

Not only is this a fantastic and flavoursome one shot Cthulhu adventure, it has an amazing amount of GM aides to boot, including the ship's crew of over 20 pregens, so that PCs, as they are whittled down, have plenty of options to choose from; a crew roster page, with faces and names of all the PCs and NPCs; 2 plans of the ship for players, one a cross-section, one a top down map.  As well as having a portrait of each PC and NPC (hint: can this become the new normal Chaosium?), there is plenty of atmospheric art and some glorious full colour pieces.

5 tentacle/ elder signs from me. Thanks Paul for a fantastic adventure.  Can't wait to unleash this on my group.

I bought this s ensrio on day one because I"m a fan of different historical settings. After reading it all I can say is WOW. This is a fantastic yarn about horror at sea. I agree with the author that it is probably not the best scenario to use to introduce Call of Cthulhu to your group, but that being said you and your players will have a fantastic nights play with this.
