Calling "Into The Darkness" an adventure is a bit overstating it.
It's basically a single encounter meant to walk new players through a basic encounter. The best part of Into The Darkness is the DM Tipsheet meant to help a DM learn how to play monsters.
Into The Darkness is not objectively bad or poorly written, it's just a bit flat. The focus here is clearly on the mechanical aspects of the encounter with no flavour or colour given that would honestly impart the more engaging elements of an RPG.
For $0 if you need something quick to drop in it's not bad, but as an introduction for new players it really doesn't do a great job of showcasing D&D in it's best light.
