I kickstarted this project because I was so happy to see it choose a system and principles that focused on narrative gameplay and the group talking with each other.

And most of the system does that. The players describe what their character tries to do and the GM calls for rolls or describes how the narrative reacts.

All this however comes to a screeching halt when combat comes into the picture. It is rigid and slow. And even worse, it doesn't flow naturally from the conversation at the table. It also feels like they chose this specific method of combat, just to be able to sell reference materials. Because that is certainly needed to run combat somewhat smoothly.

Very neat with the design looking like the orignal character sheets, however, the cut lines to not align when printing on both sides of the paper, so when cutting the page will be uneven.

There is also some "smudges" on the sheets on page 5 at the bottom of the big text field area and a couple other places.

Lost Mine of Phandelver: 6th Pregen Character

Earlier I made a review that seemed to have had some misinformaiton:

I am freshly starting on D&D 5e and wasn't aware that Wizard of the Coast have created a "revised" version of the ranger, and therefore I did believed that this product was using house rules which was incorrect.

So it is following both the visuals and the rules of D&D 5e.

Hello Søren, Thank you for taking the time to review my product. You’re right that this version of the Ranger class cannot be found in the original ‘core rules’ as published in the Player’s Handbook by Wizards of the Coast in 2014. However, this is because the original Ranger class, from the core rules, is actually considered to be weaker than the other classes - and I quote Wizards of the Coast themselves: “(…) the ranger (…) ranking as D&D’s weakest class by a significant margin.” Therefore, Wizards of the Coast released a new version of the Ranger class in 2016 on their official website called ‘The Ranger, Revised’: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/unearthed-arcana-ranger-revised. The Revised Ranger was intended to be more fun to play and to be stronger during combat. I used the revised rules to create this Ranger character because I think they are more ‘fair’ for everybody around your table, especially new players. I can assure you that I did not ‘house rule’ anything in a deliberate way. You can message me directly if you happen to come across other (possible) errors. Thanks in advance and good luck playing the Lost Mine of Phandelver! Rinse
