Great scenario. Nice to see an adventure based in Prax. It really succeeds in creating a distinctive atmosphere for this region of Glorantha. For example through little touches like the sand-mushrooms. The main NPC is a shaman of one of the clans of the Bison Tribe and I do like the way the whole premise of the scenario fleshes out the shaman’s central role in Praxian clan life. There was good advice for GMs on how to scale the adventure and there is a useful appendix of runespells for the cult of Bagog.

This scenario is a great introduction to adventuring in Prax - the nomad clan and how it operates and the importance and behavior of shamans are well-illustrated. The adventure itself is a nice mixture of environmental threats and hideous opponents. The authors also provide very helpful advice for scaling encounters, and nice touches like a map that shows what can be seen if the party has a flyer (as a lot of even beginning RQ parties will.) If Chaosium chooses to publish a set of scenarios set among the nomads of Prax, I'd recommend they include this one.

Lovingly crafted and containing enough extra resources to let you really play with the scenario and make it fit your gaming group.

A nifty scenario set in Prax, with a mix of social intrigue in a Praxian clan, wilderness survival, and a very nasty monster lair. The authors provide advice on scaling encounters to suit your adventurers, plot hooks to get them involved, and suggestions for subsequent developments. Several original illustrations (three of scorpion creatures, two of Praxians, and one spirit bison), clear and functional maps, and gruesomely memorable staging advice for the boss fight. Beer With Teeth products continue to impress - and the NPC stats, new monsters and Bagog Rune spells here will be useful even if you don't plan to run the scenario as described.

I ran this for a diminished party of Rhino Riders. Four and a half hours of game play and many moments of terror for the players. Just as they thought they were safe, having beaten the boss fight, there was another horror to unleash. They fled. Most excellent.
