So, I feel a lot of these reviews were done at launch. And while no doubt, first impressions are important, this is a dense game.
I'm going to share my thoughts on the Scion 2e system as a whole, and you can take my review from there.
Let's start with the most obvious issue.
I think its safe to say that Origin and Hero could and, probably should, have been combined into one book. The amount of moving between books to find rules for the simplest thing in any Onyx Path book has earned the ire of my group. While I love your worlds and systems, OPP, formatting and proofreading aren't your strong suit.
That being said, once you understand the core system, this is easily some of the most fun I've had in a tabletop game and, I will continue to play this until my group kills me for gushing about it so much.
I've only played from Origin to Hero so far, but Demigod just came out and God isnt even released at time of this review.
The one thing you need to understand about OPP books, is that everything is adjustable. You don't like what some see as a flat world? They give you ideas on how to change that. You don't like having every pantheon? You can choose to focus on the ones - or one - you know! I'm not saying its perfect, and it does have a certain niche of Mythology nerds, but if you want to play a game with epic stakes and a system even more-so, I can't praise this game enough.
And if you have any questions, the Discord is more than welcoming and friendly! I know I for one have asked more than my fair share of silly or stupid questions, yet any number of members, usually Kyman201 or Wuse Major, appear to help me.
Buy this game. Support this amazing company. You honestly won't regret it.
