This is my first experience with Heroic Maps, mainly because most of their maps haven't seemed to fit the theme I've been looking for. This one was close enough, so I gave it a try.
The print looks great, the grid lines are easily visible, but don't draw my attention away from the map. I am excited to try it out.
The only down side came with printing as the only print options are full map or sections on A4 size. Because there was white space around the map sections, I was hopeful that printing the A4 to letter (8.5"x11") without changing the scale might work. Alas, it chopped a little too much off the ends, so I figured out how to make a band that included the missing material to tie the two halves together.
As this is the only Heroic product I've tried, I don't know if others provide a letter-size print format or not. In my opinion, this is not a huge deal and doesn't change the quality of the map. If you know beforehand that their sections on A4 don't translate well to letter at full scale, you can play with scaling down the print job. Maybe to 95%.
