The Complete Year 1 Scenario Collection [BUNDLE]
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
by Michael W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 10/11/2024 15:26:49

I am surprised this does not have many reviews. These adventures are amazing. You can use them as add ons to either LMoP or DOIP and the Beyond DOIP adventures. The stories add depth and history to the area that is not easily accesible in many 5e Modules or requiresa bit of digging. Adding these in as pieces here and there has worked wonders and adds in elements to a campaign people may have played before. How I wish this was available as a Roll20 module!! The adventures are all connected and could be run as their own mini campaign. You can get them individually or in this bundle. Either way it is worth it if you are early on in your DMing and looking for material to add to a published module or to use in your own homebrew for the area. This has helped me for years and I suspect it will continue to be something I explore over the years.

A Most Potent Brew - A Basic Rules Adventure
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

This is a great adventure to run for new players. It is well written and has everything you could want for a level one session. Those damn centipedes are surprisingly lethal. The puzzle is rather easy to get but nothing too simple where it is guessed in a second. I can see why this is suggested to first time DM's so often and I concur with that advice.

A great adventure to use if Glasstaff escapes or is not killed outright by the group. A fun adventure to add in if you mix the LMoP/DOIP modules.

Lost Tales of Phandelver I - The Drow Necromancer
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

This is a fun adventure I have modified a bit to drop into LMoP/DOIP and the new Shattered Obelisk. Placing it in Cragmaw Hideout was fun the first time but I have found it is a good idea to put it elsewhere as a surprise adventure when things get slow. If you are running for newer players it is great to drop in up to level 4/5 with some adjustments for CR on monsters. Having them be associated with The Black Spider is fun and I try to link an NPC they like to the Drow so they can feel invested in exploring what this one is up to. All the artwork will want to be looted by players so expect to add in a trip to Neverwinter or Waterdeep to sell those things but that really does add to the adventure. This whole package of the Lost Tales are great to run in parallel and easy to adjust to broaden the scope of the campaign.

For Shattered Obelisk the Drow is disturbed at the discovery of the new goblins in the area and tells tales of the old empire that used to exist and had run rampant in Talahunderth/Gibbets Crossing and destroying the merchants. You can connect the Necromancer to one of the families that are there as it adds a little more to the story. Bringing in Nezznar and their interest in WEC with the Shards can be fun. I highly recommend this especially for newer DM's

I have played this and am now DMing it. It is a nice filler for Dragon Heaist for me if they don't have much to doat Trollskull alley. I do wish the map would just plop right into roll20 and fit the page but it does not. Still working on tweaking that. You can use this to add some mystery and fun to the search for the Stone of Galorr

Secrets of Cragmaw Caves

I threw this into a game where I was running LMOP & DOIP from 1-10 and had the group run this at lvl 6 with 6 well equipped players. It was exciting to say the least. I had to make some tweaks of course but the game went great and the bad guy did end up escaping. Thanks to the Torc of Defense my Barb now has an AC of 20 at the least! They enjoyed returning to Cragmaw as it had been taken over by a den of thieves led by a magic user and his henchman. When I said a 20 didn't hit they got a bit nervouse at level 6. Once they worked aay at Durug's henchment they were able to get him down in a few rounds. It did take at least 3 sessions to run this so about 14 hours. And I didn' even inclue half of the stuff. Great to run as an adventure but also to toss in and add your own homebrew to it. They could just be linked to the Cult of Myrkul in my story

Monster Loot - Complete Collection Bundle [BUNDLE]
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
by Michael W. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 11/07/2023 06:38:26

I love adding in extra items so when something unique drops it is time to do that nature check (usually) and see what goods you can get from the corpse of that Hydra. The guide lines for how long some of the items can take to be crafted and costs helps but with game flow I often speed things up when it comes to crafting something from the hide of a beast or what they could sell it for at a shop. I suggest the whole bundle for a busy DM who doesn't have the time to look into what a vial of dragons blood can do or if their are magical propertoes to Giant's Toes. All in all a great purchase that has enhanced every session or campaign I have run. WOTC.... might be cool if you made these offical and part of D&D Beyond instead of having to homebrew them or hope others have :) Thanks for the hard work and lost the series.

This is my first time running this and I have this bundle and it has been immensley helpful evern just for chapter one and with what I have read in the other chapters I expect to buy the Tiamt bundle as well. I do wish this came in a printed Softcover to save on cost of printing but worth it as I plan on running this module a few times. Thanks for the hard work and with the new release of the module it makes it so much easier to DM.

Dragonlance : Prelude to War - Roll20
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild
by Michael W. [Verified Purchaser]

I got this as an add on for the new Module. I loved the role play that it enabled and the setting it sets with the war and the ominous threat of the Dragon army. Without giving away too much on the spoilers I will say I made some changes with the monsters and leveling. It took them a whole session just to explore the Hatchery :) All in all I loved DM'ing it but I think players wanted a little more action. I may run this a one shot just to teast the game out a bit more. Great job and I look forward to more Dragonlance adventures. Maps were a bit awkward but easily manageable for an experienced user.
