This website is misleading. Offering overnight on products that can't be overnighted, and making you wait a month or more for titles. 1/5, 0/5 if it were possible. Absolute trash. Just pirate these books and have them printed locally.

although each page is correct, it is not as crips or high quality as the original product. the glossy maps are not as glossy. the pages are not as clear Rating as a POD 6/10

The print quality is very poor, with the letters being fuzzy and a gray haze behind the paragraphs. Not worth getting a POD copy and the PDF is effectively unreadable as well. I will add I have the AD&D 1e Player's Handbook and the print quality is excellent. DTRPG you can do better.

A great resource for Basic D&D. But the scan quality is just sub-par. The text is fuzzy/blurry as if out of focus throughout the book. The options for old scan or new scan are identical. Both are the exact same size and both suffer the same out of focus/fuzzy lettering effect. I would love to get a POD version, but I'm afraid it may have the same fuzzy scan result.

Letters or characters lack clear definition, appearing hazy. Such poor scanning job kept me from giving the book a higher rating. I know Wizard of the Coast doesn't care about the consumer, but they could have done with this book (and all others) what they did with the core OD&D, AD&D 1e, and AD&D 2e books: replace the text on the scanned pages with newly typed text, making the files look like original electronic versions.

A bit old school, but this is my "go to" D&D rulebook. I am very happily satisfied with the pdf and hardback.

Fantastic reprint of this old book and well worth the money and waiting for. Why have an older copy with issues and missing pages or torn and written in, when you can have a crisp new one for a fraction of the price! I'm going to keep it for my games and not try and rob the D&D comunity by buying and selling on books just to make a few dollars! Thanks to the Printers for their hard work.

For anyone looking to run classic pre-3e era D&D, this is easily the single best rulebook you could get. It's full of everything you would get from a PHB, MM and DMG, in a single book, and the rules are very extensively written, covering a lot of different situations and scenarios, from dungeon crawling, to wilderness adventuring, to stronghold construction, to mass-scale war. If you can overlook the few Basic quirks, like class and race being conflated, then you really can't go wrong with this as your system of choice. It will let you run pretty much any Basic or AD&D module too - you can even overlook the conversion rules at the end, in my experience there is no conversion necessary, as any power imbalances are marginal enough to not cause any significant issues. A party of Basic PCs from these rules can go through an AD&D module just fine, as-written.

As for the quality of the POD - For how cheap it is, the quality is perfectly acceptable. You can tell that it's not as crisp and sharp as it would be if you were looking at an original print, there's a very slight blur to everything, but not to the level of being distracting, or to interfere with readability. I'm somewhat concerned about the hardback spine, as I'm not fully confident it will survive extensive use of the book, but that's just a suspicion on my part - only time will tell. Overall, I'm very pleased with what I got!

As literally everyone says, and keeps saying in the reviews, the content itself is good, but the quality of the scans is abysmal. Incredibly sad to see this corner stone of a book to get such poor treatment :(

The binding is good on the Hardback book so far. The printing quailty varies from very good to average. I kind of looks slightly blurry at times and occasionally the print looks like it slid a bit on print. I gave it a 3, mainly because of the print quailty. For me, I'm mainly using "OSE Old school essentials" and got this more as a reference book with that. As "The Rules Cyclodepia" covers much higher levels and OSE is Basic DnD Cleaned up.

The book is pretty cheap though (especially comparing buying an original print edition of the book, which is crazy expensive) , so whilst the print of text is a bit dodgy at times, it was worth it for me given how I'm using it.

The Rules Cyclopedia is a fantastic book that easily deserves five stars on it's own really, but the quality of the printed version is underwhelming to say the least. The text is fuzzy and while not unreadable it is definitely a pain to read for longer periods. I do not regret my purchase of the hardcover version but it's a shame.

Very impressed by my print-on-demand copy. Sturdy hardcover, bound perfectly, crisp pages with easy to red print. Hearty tomb that would cost $50+ at a bookstore
