Golden Sky Stories is a heartwarming, non-violent role-playing game from Japan, by Ryo Kamiya. In this game, players take on the role of henge, animals that have just a little bit of magical power, including the ability to temporarily take on human form. You can be a fox, raccoon dog, cat, dog, rabbit, or bird, and each kind has their own special magical powers. Players will then attempt to solve problems around a small enchanted town with ingenuity, co-operation and friendship.

Golden Sky Stories requires one Narrator, 2-4 players, pencils and paper, and tokens to keep track of Dreams.

Is there any chance that this wonderful rulebook could be updated to replace instances of "he or she" and "his or her" to a gender neutral "they/them"? I run games for LGBTQIA+ players and while it's not a dealbreaker by any means, it can be a minor, antiquated annoyance.

Feel free to reach out to me directly if help is needed; I believe the changes I'm asking for can be made with relative ease.

Does anyone know if there's a way to access the kickstarter bonus materials? I'm specifically looking for the raccoon and the sheep character descriptions. I had thought that they would be included in the extra materials, but I don't see them.

Yes, I think it would be simple enough, and I think your daughter would love this game, as it's overall very rules light and easy to deal with mid game.

I do find that some folks get confused about what Resource to use when (it should be noted that I run this game A LOT at both home and at cons,) as you have 5 Resource pools you are managing--Dreams, Wonder, Feelings, Memories, and Threads. 3 of the pools (Wonder, Feelings, and Memories) have a lot of overlap: For example, you can only use Wonder for Powers and Feelings for Attribute boosts, but you can use both for Transforming, and then you have Memories, which can be used for anything either Wonder of Feelings could do. But I don't think this would be a problem for her.

I personally don't care for the way Memories or the 5th pool, Threads, work, so I have simplified it further, reducing the Resource pool down to 3 (feel free to borrow this if you choose to):

Will the pdf of the もののけこやけ translation become available for sale here too eventually? I missed the kickstarter unfortunately, but I saw the prerelease PDF was distributed to KS backers in July if I'm not mistaken. And as an aside, are there any plans to translate the ひとつなこみち and これからのみち supplements too in the future? I'd sure prefer having some pretty looking translations instead of my own hand scribbles after all. :)

It's taking longer than we'd like, but we're planning to do a Kickstarter to fund a print run and full PDF release of Mononoke Koyake, and to produce some more original material.
