Delta Green: The Last Equation
by Trung B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/04/2018 15:25:40

The first scenario that exposed me to Delta Green back when it was originally released and it hit all of the werid things that I really love about the setting. How it's grounded in the real world and that how one thing, upon discovery, can catostraphically ruin the lives of everyone in contact with it. There's a beautiful nihilism about The Last Equation that is wonderful to run and play. It's a great mystery that isn't about a monster and more about the horrors of the world that lie just beyond human comprehension. It's quintessentially Delta Green.

Delta Green: Need to Know -- Free Starter Rulebook
by A customer [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/02/2018 23:26:15

The Need to Know Document is a great primer on the rules for the Delta Green RPG. All the "crunch" of the system packaged in a well-designed and easy to use reference. Perfect for use at the table to make a quick rules lookup. It also contains six pre-generated characters and an intro scenario called "Last Things Last." A good intro scenario for new players to get a feel for the rules, and it can also be used as a great jumping-off point for a new campaign.

The screen is one of the best "GM Screens" I have ever seen for an RPG. It is a four-panel screen, each panel approx 8.5" x 11", oriented landscape-style so it doesn't block your view of the table or your players. The tables on the back side are very useful and I find them to be of great help when running a game. The art on the front is top-notch and it fits right in with the setting of Delta Green. It is made of durable cardboard, just like a hardcover book, so it should last for many years. Tougher than a Shantak's thorax.

An excellent resource for handlers, well designed and laid out. Gives predesigned character sheets for the occupations in the Delta Green Agent's Handbook. Well worth the money.

Am a big fan of horror settings and a HUGE fan of the late D20 modern and its attempt to modernize the RPG setting. Absolutly loved this game, modern setting plus horror lore OMFG. Also worth mention is the FREE updates to the book every time its corrected or edited. Highly recomended

Delta Green: Need to Know -- Free Starter Rulebook
by Monica G. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 02/16/2018 11:37:36

This was reviewd by Brian Woodman for www.GeeksAGogo.com. Full review link below

Delta Green, which Pagan Publishing first released in 1997, expertly combined ‘X Files’-style conspiracy horror with the Lovecraftian horror of Chaosium’s ‘Call of Cthulhu RPG. The players are federal agents and their allies involved in an obscure conspiracy to combat the monsters and cults affiliated with the Cthulhu Mythos, protecting the United States from cosmic horrors.

It uses the same elegant system and contained a wealth of information on real-world federal agencies as well as fictional enemies running the gamut of the genre (double-dealing federal agents, zombie-making Nazi holdouts, etc).

This product is a compressed, quick-start version of the new edition for the game. It does what it is supposed to do but by its very nature is very underdeveloped. It does contain a great sample scenario and should whet the appetites of anyone interested in the premise.

It contains interesting rules for interpersonal bonds outside of work. The system allows these bonds to alleviate the stressors that players may face from their jobs, although these can erode over time – a nice touch that allows realistic psychological horror to enter the game.

This product may serve as a back door for people new to the game. More experienced players may find it of limited use, although I am interested in seeing where further products in the line may lead. Delta Green: Observer Effect
by Trung B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/11/2018 15:27:17

An excellent scenario that portrays the new "Program" of Delta Green investigating things man was not meant to know and shows that the result of even harmless scientific experimentation can yield disasterous results. Smooth to run, tense, and exciting. It's a great "closed room" scenario.

Delta Green: Lover in the Ice
by Ben F. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/11/2018 13:47:03

Lover in the Ice is an awesome Delta Green scenario you can play with the basic rules in Need to Know and it's pregens.

It is a mature scenario (though it could be argued to be more teenage male in..... design!)......

Agents are plonked into an ice storm and have to secure a Green Box (secret storage facility) whose alarm has gone off in the storm.

It is very entertaining. There is a fantastic podcast of it online run by its creator Caleb Stokes. Well written. Sandbox in style but with a tight time line of events.

No city map is included. Google La Fontaine map and you should find one of Springfield altered to work.   You will need to work out where events happen.   The end part needs some fleshing out by the Keeper as well. Caleb has written a fantastic overview of events and problems. The Keeper needs to polish to taste. The podcast helped me a lot in this regard. I don't want to give away the story..... but certainly making sure the Keeper is conversant with the threat, it's strengths and weaknesses is essential.

Highly recommended. Read up on other advice online. I only had a 3 hour window to play this in. Thus we focused on the missing content from the Green Box. It was an intense and at times hilarious session!

Delta Green: Observer Effect
by Ben F. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/11/2018 13:16:38

Like the other DG scenarios, this is a dark tale of modern conspiracy horror. Likewise it is really well written and organised. This is probably a scenario for slightly experienced keepers. Whilst it's creator Shane Ivey has created various time lines in the scenario, the Keeper will need to create a master mind map & overall time line of events. It is an intense and intellectually challenging scenario.   Rewarding. Dark.

Yet again another unique exploration of the Mythos.. none of the all too familiar deep ones or other staple Mythos fare. Ivey et al are truly expert in bringing Lovecraftian horror alive in new, unique and challenging ways. In each scenario pcs are challenged to really think on their feet.

There are now approximately half a dozen Delta Green scenarios with more to come. Not only is the DG rule set the best on the market IMHO for Lovecraftian rpging, it is being brilliantly supported. Highly recommended!

This scenario takes abit of prep to pull off smoothly  but once the realization of what is going on hits your players it's all worthwhile.

Delta Green: Viscid
by Richard M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/30/2018 18:00:40

This is a great scenario, illustrating the dangers posed by the collapse of Majestic and its secrets, in whole or in part, falling into private hands.

Lots of potential for investigation, monster hunting and good old fashioned SAN loss induced by meddling in things the human mind was not meant to comprehend!

I especially like the wealth of background information in this scenario. It offers a lot of useful nuggets of information tucked away in timelines, NPC bio's and exposition text that can be very useful to a Handler looking to shape further scenarios or a campaign around fallout from the collapse of Majestic.

In short - a great Delta Green scenario, pandora's box of useful background nuggets and a, perhaps surprisingly, sympathetic antagonist.

Delta Green is the best horror RPG by far, it has been for decades. With the new edition it only got better.

This Scenario is well worth it, not only does it look good, it's a cracking adventure.
