About the Now in Print editions:

1. The Black & White print editions of this book are not full-bleed. Because of printing requirements there is a small white border around the edge of the pages.

2. Standard Color uses a thinner paper stock than Premium Color. This usually means the colors are less vivid, but it also means the price drops a bit per page in the production process. Examples of pages: Premium Color vs. Standard Color.

Also available now for the World of Darkness:

World of Darkness: Ghost HuntersWorld of Darkness: Ghost Hunters

The abandoned lover, waiting for her paramour to return, only to die, alone. Now she waits in her house forever.

The murdered family, killed in a spree so violent their spirits couldn’t pass on to the hereafter, now wreaking an untampered revenge on anyone they find.

The serial killer, who never made his tally complete in life, now determined to possess the bodies of the living to continue his gruesome campaign.

These ghosts, and more, haunt our world. They watch us, they torment us, they play with us, they find themselves locked in Sisyphean cycles, where the only respite comes through the haunting of the living.

It is our role to hunt these spirits down. Some believe we’re laying them to a deserved rest. Others hunt for the renown and to put down the homicidal dead. Others believe they’re doing God’s work, or with every hunt, their knowledge of the paranormal world increases.

We are ghost hunters, and regardless of our motives, it is our task to ensure the dead may no longer torture the living.

Slight typo I noticed recently for Obeah's first fot discipline power, on the last paragraph on pg 458 (swap the two abilities around and it makes perfect sense, or if you have access to it, you could use the V20 Dark ages version for that). To be fair, I've had this for years and only just now noticed this single issue within the V20 core rulebook. Just thought I mention it here, even though it is incredibly pendantic on an otherwise decent core rulebook, because I've never seen this get mentioned anywhere else in the past.

Has printing changed since originally launched? When I purchased the premium color HB, it came in 2 seperate volumes. There was enough of a major error that one of the volumes had to be reprinted for many (everyone?) that purchased in that timeframe.

One of my friends....*sigh* left the books out, and they got.....eaten. By their dog.

I see many posts about bad bindings, and mine had no problems up until....this....fiasco!

Is there anywhere to get this that isn't PoD? I am consistently disappointed by the quality of PoD books, and given the comments I'm seeing here, I can see these are no exception.

Sadly no, unless they offer different binding options you won't get better quality. Your best bet is to print off the PDF from lulu and have a professional bookbinder fix it up for you. Sucks but as long as POD doesn't allow for different binding options this is your best bet.

Gluebacks are just not worth it. They look nice on a shelf but you're better off just printing this at home -- its pretty much all they're doing in the printing house.

It looks like a premium hardcover on the outside but without a cloth hinge its pretty much just a bunch of pieces of paper glued to cardboard.

I have three copies of this book. I bought the color version for myself and 2 of the B&W for my players. All three have broken bindings after less than 3 months of light use. I didn't use the color version at all for over a year and when I opened it the first time, the binding snapped.

Get your XXX together DTRPG, I spent too much money on these to have a stack of pages and three separated bindings.

My only question is how do these books look on a tablet? I know the OG second edition was graphics-heavy and doesn't translate well to Tablet or Laptop screen.

Would I be better off getting this and/or V5 in print editions?

I'm asking these questions because I've owned VTR which, NGL, I hated the lore behind it and no one I knew was interested in playing it so we stuck with 2E and told a wide range of stories. I am also limited severely on space ...and I'd like to not spend two times the money on a book I might not ever truly get into. Learned the hard way from The Requiem not to judge an RPG by it's cover.

How does this book look like in the tablet? It usually runs well, the graphics are nicely done with good resolution of up to 1200% after which it slowly starts to pixelize, but it is still a clear one. The text are crisps and clear as in vector format. Delay in page turning depends on the app and the tablet's RAM, 4gb RAM is doing great.

If you are talking about how you hate the lore which usually attribute from little to no one interested in playing the game, well... that is entirely subjective and it has nothing to do with the quality of the book presented herein. V20 is a culmination of years of gaming experience that made this edition literally a masterpiece.

If you are gauging the "worth of your money" by the quantity of time you can use the book with your gaming group to have some good time, I suggest you consult them first before you buy. Only you can make the game interesting without the need of a specific edition, and for as long as it makes you happy that is already...See more

V20 has updated the lore to the years 2010s, but most of it it's in the Anarchs Unbound book and Becket Jihad Diary.
Hope this helps you!

Since the original World of Darkness was brought to a close some time ago, those books lack references to events that has transpired since then, such as world leaders being elected, the changing/formation of political groups that the Kindred might influence, shifting of geographical borders, upgrades in technology or development in new technology, et cetera.

V20 goes from "cellphones" to "smartphones," from "laptops" to "tablets." It touches on things that have changed since the mid-2000s in the EU, nods to events that have had an impact on world culture, and makes some rules a bit more clear with regards to what the average skill rating would be in a world where nearly everyone has some form of connectivity to a global information network or a support structure that enables rapid response to their personal crises.

It's merely a touch-up to keep the World of Darkness relevant without Storytellers having to account for things like electric cars,...See more

God I know right? I don't like hardback for RPG books. They never last as long as the paperback.

They used to have it in softcover format, so I'm surprised that it's not here as I'm about to purchase another print-on-demand copy.

My personal book is B&W softcover with some obvious formatting errors due to being early in the refinement and editing process at the time of purchase, but it's held up for a few years with heavy use. I have no qualms with dropping it onto the floor or stuffing it into a backpack with other books because it's sturdy yet flexible.

We should all keep asking until the softcover option comes back; it's simply the best! :D

Is this pod still being printed in 1 volume? I own it but its falling apart; Im now playing V5 but want to know if there is still problems with the binding of this edition.
btw, V5 is vastly superior in mechanics to V20; I use V20 now mostly as reference material.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
