I just bought the pdf last week and am re-visiting the corp book as well. To be honest for the way they set up the pdfs alone these products are better than any I have seen in really any game. That is just the pdf set up. That doesn't include the great content they have provided all of us. Awesome product from a very good company that knows how to create a gaming pdf.

I wonder if they added electoral thermal chemical weapons back in or are they still 2020

This book is amazing. As an old vanguard of the 2013/2020 era (I played tons of CP2020 in college in the early nineties) this is what I remember wishing the Chromebooks would look and be more like. About the only thing missing is some distinctly Sorayama-esque art.

When the only complaints are people nitpicking details about "the vibe" and the "graphics layout" you know there's a lot of good content.

I've been GMing Cyberpunk Red campaigns since day one of the jumpstart kit release. In my mind Black Chrome is the best release so far. There is a ton of gear, vehicles, armour etc, way more than was provided in the rulebook alone. My favourite thing most of all, is that you can tell they took their time creating interesting and fun items that are going to be fun in gameplay. That seems to be the priority here - as it was with Red. Gameplay comes first. As a result we have lots of interesting new ways for the players to assert autonomy into the game, and in ways that also haven't been seen in other tabletops.

After waiting a little over two years for this book to come out it was.....disappointing. Now I should say it's not a bad book as there's a lot to like in it, but sadly it's lacking parts really show.

First, the good. I love the style and presentation of this book which makes it feel like your browsing the datapool in Night City itself. Not to mentioned everything is hyperlinked and all the items are shown on the table of contents in the pdf version which is just so useful when you need to find an item during a game. The weapons section is very nice with lots of unique and interesting things to kill with (personal favorite is the AR and Crossbow combo gun perfect for when stealth missions XXX up). While I know a lot of people have gripes about the costs in the Vehicle section personally I don't mind it as Cyberpunk has always been about the massive difference between the Haves and Have nots. On that note, I do appreciate the new rules for Nomads being able to access these vehicles which encourages...See more

This is a great little book. One thing did strike me as odd, though, reading through the fixers: Mr K is missing the trading skill. Might be good to fix in errata, since it's the main way PCs would interact with him.

That isn't an error. At his level, he doesn't trade. He orders flunkies to trade.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining. Fantastic book. I really like the section on fixers and night markets. It has real potential to make seeking out the book's equipment interesting for edge runners. :)

This is some good cyberpunk content , if you felt Red was missing flavor to the equipment , this more than fixes that and the pdf is hyperlinked to a degree that feels natural if you use a cell phone

Only thing I'd say is kind of wish the fluff/lore and crunch were sepertated in the ad

the buy now button on the ad took you to the stat block similar to how the page button on the stat block takes you up to the ad.

I'm still reading it, I've already flipped through it and it looks like a decent book. Although it leaves a feeling of "I want more", it has a good variety of equipment. I hope there's a second book (although, personally, I'd like to see a book dedicated to Night City first).

The Night Markets session left me with a doubt: if all vehicles, even the cheapest cars and motorcycles, are classified as Super Luxury, and access to the Night Markets (at least those mentioned) are very restricted, how the hell can a normal person buy it? I understand that the economy is in shambles and that Night City is on recovery, but from the illustrations throughout the books, there are cars out there, not all of them luxury looking. If it is extremely difficult to get a car or even a cheap motorbike, then the streets would be basically deserted, limited to taxis, buses and, in more rich regions, cars owned by wealthy people. And it's not quite the image that the illustrations show to us.

Personally I treat cars as something lease-able in my games. So if someone's driving a car worth 30k, they may be on a 5 year plan with a 5k downpayment, paying 500 eddies a month.

Did you know less than fifty percent of New York City households own a vehicle?

The streets aren't empty. There's plenty of business/Corp and Nomad-owned vehicles out there. Plus, as you may notice in the Expanded Lifestyle section, people can rent vehicles. And access to Night Markets isn't quite as limited as one might think. All you need to go to Woodchipper's, for example, is to be on good terms with the Nomads (or know someone who is!). You are right, vehicles ARE expensive (just like in the real world) and most people don't own one, but ways do exist for people who are part of the system.

I've seen people complaining about buying cars in Night City. Well, welcome to Brazil. Things are like this down here. some people will never be able to buy a car, yet, streets are cramped with cars. Just my 2 cents of eddies.

I distinctly recall standing in São Paulo with two mates looking at a helipad on top of a residential building and thinking that this was basically Cyberpunk.

Please don't get me wrong Choomba's, I'm a die-hard Cyberpunk fan. Maybe it's because I'm an "old school edgerunner" (Been playing since CP2013) but honestly, I'm a bit disappointed w/ the content. IMO, the book comes across a bit half-assed, as if they're haphazardly throwing a fresh coat of paint on some previous/recycled material + the whole cyberpunk sub-genre in general. Just about every item in the old Chromebook's told a story all their own which only helped to enrich the dark future atmosphere. This one, not so much. As a result, I'm cautiously optimistic of future RTG products. =

I'd point out that no idea is truly original , in response to the idea they're just reworking things from "the whole cyberpunk (genre)". While for the time of 2013 it was pretty innovative even Mike admits he was liberally reworking existing ideas to make 2013 and has more than once confirmed that the 2020 rework of mechanics was in response to him integrating stuff from the sprawl trilogy by Gibson.

No worries, choomba. Everyone's allowed to have their opinion on the book. We like to think Black Chrome holds up to the standards of the old Chromebooks and adds something new to the process but not everyone will and that's fine.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
