Are we missing a separate map for the Pirate Nations? I just purchased this product, and there were only six maps to download. The PN are well represented on the map that also shows Aztlan, but the ad copy says there should be seven maps total, with the pirates getting their own. Anyone know what's up?

OK, this is maddening. I had kickstarted the 7th Sea 2nd edition, and got most of the material as downloads. Today I was notified that I had new digital content via backerkit. I logged on, and along with pdf copies of all the books, the map pack was there. I downloaded it from there, and voila, all the fonts work like they are supposed to. I thought maybe they had either fixed them here, or maybe there really was something wrong with my pdf readers. Redownloaded, and they are still broken. But only at DriveThruRpg

I'm wondering if anyone from DTRPG or JWP ever contacted any of you about a fix. I foolishly bought the damn thing assuming the problems would have been corrected, and now I'm not sure what to do with it. Thanks.

I am also having issues with the text on every single map. The issues with the maps of Quanhlotye and the Western Hemisphere are more understandable. Quanhlotye's Sourcebook is not finished and the Western Hemisphere is compiling all the maps together. Hopefully they will review this soon and send an update.

Same. I've tried 3 pdf readers and Photoshop, and there is text missing on every map I looked at in every viewer. Something was formatted wrong on these maps, and they need an update.

OK, a majority of these seem to be the same maps you get with the pdf version of the books, with the exception Quanahlotye and the entire Western Hemisphere. Those two are new (or at least they are new to me). Except there is something wrong with the fonts. I'm looking at them on MacOS 10.14 using Preview, PDF Expert, and Adobe Reader and all of the maps are not showing the fonts properly. As in, a bunch of random characters are not showing up at all for me. For example, comparing the Ifri map I got with the Crescent Empire, I can see the nations of "KHEMET", "MAGHREB", and "MANDEN". On my new map, they show up as " AGH EB", " HE E ", and " A DE ". It seems to affect a majority of the text and all of the maps, no matter what PDF viewer I examine them in. This seems to be a problem only affecting the new maps, not the older ones.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
