CCC-YLRA01-02 Uneasy Lies the Head

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price €4,56

Refugees from Mulmaster have flooded the rough-and-tumble town of Ylraphon. Poverty, shortages, overcrowding, and an unnatural heatwave have tempers running high. When a series of mysterious crimes erupt, the people are desperate for someone to blame. Can you find the connection and the culprit, or will the angry mob deal its own form of justice?

A 4-hour D&D Adventurers League adventure for 5th-10th level characters (optimized for 8th-level).

This adventure is part two of the "Whispers Over Ylraphon series", which follows up on events from the Elemental Evil storyline and other past D&D Adventurers League seasons. It originally debuted at Orccon 2017. Orccon is a Strategicon convention, Southern California's largest tabletop gaming events hosted triannually on Presidents' Day Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend. Find out more at www.strategicon.net.

"Whispers Over Ylraphon" begins in CCC-YLRA01-01 Her Dying Wish and continues in CCC-YLRA01-03 Bound by Duty, although the adventures can be played in any order. The story concludes in future adventures premiering at Strategicon conventions in 2017.

Included in this purchase is:

  • A four-hour investigative mystery optimized for five level 8 players
  • Encounter scaling recommendations to lower or increase the difficulty
  • Optional encounters and paths to keep the story fresh each time you run it
  • Full-color maps
  • Official D&D Adventurer's League magic item certificates

Would it be possible to remove the "complete adventure" pdf in this pack? Its presence is causing some confusion among players as it doesn't contain the updated magic item description that v1.3.0 does, and since it doesn't show a version in the filename it's not clear which file is the most current (resulting in many users just downloading the first file in the list).

On a related note, the handouts document also still contains the older wording regarding what type of item can be chosen.

Is the Wobbles an AL legal creature to polymorph into?

Does this have an item certificate yet? I will buy it if it does, but won't if it doesn't. Simple as that.

I ran this trilogy back-to-back-to-back as part of Pacificon, and everyone seemed to love it. I liked the potential of this story so much that after returning my convention copy, I came here to purchase it myself.

Players love the reward for this one in particular, so I would *love* to be able to give them a certificate to go with it.

My players loved this one. Some of the events gave them emotional responses. Mr. Wobbles!

The investigation was my favorite of its type so far.

The idea of a story having a villain larger than the story is exciting. Reminded me of the Joker in the Dark Knight movie, in the sense that he was always 1 step ahead. My players seems horrified at times even.

It is awesome!

Hi Trance, the I have made the request to my editors to get certs, and will update as soon as I have them. Thanks for your patience. Availability of these things isn't super obvious, so I'm glad you asked; it's going to make Uneasy Lies the Head better in the long run. Sometimes these things can take a little bit since they go through official channels during a pretty busy time of the year.

The official AL pre-printed magic item certificates are not available to CCC adventures as far as I'm aware, but I could provide a similar-looking adventure result certificate. I'll look into this.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have certs from the ELM series of CCC; I don't see why this mod (or set of mods) would be excluded from having certs. Please let us know what you find out regarding having certs for your CCC.

Thanks for the work on this!

Hi Ryan,
I checked on this with Robert Adducci. He stated that you ARE entitled to having a cert included with your adventure, all you have to do is ask. I have a screen cap (and his OK for the screen cap) of the chat I had with him.

As a DM and purchaser, I would be very grateful if you could provide certs for us to print out and give to our players, please.

Let me know if you'd like the screen cap or if there's anything else I can assist you with regarding this.

What was the errata? I've been looking for a document that outlines errata for CCC. I checked the current Content Catalog, ALPG, and ALDMG docs to no avail.

Thanks!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
